Women's Humor

MadKane -- Humor columnist Madeleine Begun Kane writes about what irks her. This link takes you to an essay on fashion dictates. Foray into her other topics, too (although Republicans might want to opt out).
Mommymommy.com -- Amy Krouse Rosenthal writes about women's experiences as mothers, offering both humor and practical advice. Start with excerpts from her book "The Same Phrase."
Jennifer Layton -- Although she's more into music these days, her humor columns are still great fun to read. Her rant on kids in a movie theatre reminded me of a quote in Attic:  "A child too young to understand should not go to movies, and a child who understands should be kept at home." (Sophia Hadida, 1935)
FamilyDaze - Debbie Farmer writes columns about day-to-day life, and especially the challenges of parenting.

Corsets I - miniVintage Fashion & Sewing

VintageCat Sewing Patterns -- A great source of fashion and embroidery patterns. Just looking at the images is a treat!
The Needlewoman -- If you love old-fashioned embroidered finery but think a "French knot" is a bakery item or a fancy hairdo, here's an expert who'll create anything from a wedding gown to a towel just for you.
Vintage Sewing Info -- A fantastic source for historic sewing instructions and references online, and it's all free!
Godey's Lady's Book Online -- If you've ever tried to get your hands on these through eBay, you know how impossible it is (without selling some major household appliances first). Here's an online look at the popular Victorian periodical.
East Angel Harbor Shoppe - Gorgeous handmade hats in Edwardian and Victorian styles, and more!
